Lineup Holes

Lineup holes occur on the standard and upcoming lineups when the team runs out of active players with starts at that position. The Headlines page (initial page when accessing the team) will alert the manager to check the lineups due to one or more lineup holes.

Eligible players in the minors can be promoted and added to the upcoming and standard lineups.

In leagues that do not use Trade Review, managers can negotiate trades that day to fill the lineup holes.

Note: Completing a trade that includes players in that night’s lineup will result in lineup holes for tonight’s game.

Managers can also scour the free agent lists and try to sign a player overnight. A newly-signed free agent can be added to Tomorrow’s Lineup.

The penalty for having a Lineup Hole is a 0-3 stat line and a Team Error (0.6 added to the team’s Total Defense.) In the box score, the player will be listed as AAA, and the manager’s name will be listed with the fielding errors (if there was more than one lineup hole, the manager’s name will include a number designating the total team errors earned.)
