Draft Lists

Position Lists

The BBM draft begins with 10 managers ranking 8 lists of players. Those lists are (in draft order):

  1. 1. Starting Pitchers
  2. 2. Outfield
  3. 3. First Base
  4. 4. Second Base
  5. 5. Third Base
  6. 6. Shortstop
  7. 7. Catcher
  8. 8. Relief Pitchers

The draft lists can be found by clicking Draft Lists on the Team menu.

MLB players are assigned to the list where they are expected to play in the upcoming season. For utility fielders and pitchers who are used as both relievers and starters, consideration is given to the player's primary position in the previous season and the anticipated use of the player in the upcoming season.

Note: There is no list for Designated Hitters. Players whose sole MLB position is DH tend to end up on the First Base or Outfielder lists, although they could be listed on any of the fielder lists. Many MLB teams use the DH as a flex position, rotating players in from fielding positions; those players will be listed on the most appropriate fielder list for AL and AU leagues.

Ranking the Lists

Select the position you want to set and you will see the draft list for that position.

Each player has a number next to his name which indicates his current ranking position in your draft list. Simply click the box next to a player's name and type the number you want to assign that player on your draft list.

For your top pick at starting pitcher, type a '1' next to his name. Please be sure to click the 'Submit' button to save your changes.

A second method of ranking your players is to use Drag 'n Drop. Highlight a player(s) and drag to the new position. When you release, the player(s) will immediately reside in the new position with no need to click Submit.

Note: As each list has a maximum number of players that can be listed, some players, including true rookies and first-year foreign players, will only be available as Free Agents.

Copying Draft Lists

Managers with more than one team can copy draft lists from one team to another, as long as both teams use the same player pool (AL, NL or AU). The manager selects an individual list, or all lists, and selects the team to which the list should be copied. Click Copy Draft Lists on the Draft menu and follow the instructions.
