Every BBM team begins the season with a payroll of $40,000,000 (displayed as $40,000k within the game.)
Each team drafts 28 players, with salaries determined by the draft lists of each team.
These salaries count against the team’s remaining payroll. As each round of each position draft is completed, the draft order is set in the order of most remaining payroll, with the team having the least payroll remaining drafting last. This resets each round.
Since all teams have the same payroll when the draft starts, the first round of the Starting Pitcher draft is set randomly.
Note: When there is a tie for most remaining payroll, the order will always be selected randomly.
Most managers will set their draft lists and salary caps strategically to not only draft the players desired at each position, but also with an eye on where their teams will draft in the upcoming rounds.
