Free Agent Bids

BBM teams are allowed to make one (and only one) free agent bid per night. A player must be in the free agent pool for at least 3 days before a bid will be processed. The number of days each player has been in the pool is listed next to their name.

How to bid on a free agent:

• click the button next to the player's name
• enter the Cash Bid. The minimum salary is listed next to the player. The maximum is $5,000k.
• click the Release from Roster button and select a player to be released (remember you can only have a maximum of 28 players on your roster)
• click the Submit Claim button
• a message highlighted in green appears at the top of the screen once a successful bid has been submitted.

Managers may change the dollar amount of their bid or even the player but the last submitted bid is the one BBM will process the next morning. Managers can also cancel a bid altogether by clicking the Clear Claim button. If a changed bid does not immediately process click the Reset Claim button and re-enter the dollar amount, or clear the claim and start over.

If more than one team bids on a player the team that submits the highest bid signs him. If there is a tie, the team with the most Remaining Payroll wins the bid.

Two days before the end of the season (the day Game 160 results are visible) is the last day to bid on free agents.

Ultimate Leagues have an option to View Free Agent Bids. For leagues with this option, once a bid has been submitted a message at the top of the screen will inform you if other teams are bidding on the same player. It won't tell you how much they are bidding but it will tell you how many other teams are bidding on this player. Time to open your checkbook.
