Player Deletions

When a player is traded in MLB from one league to another (American League to National League or vice versa), BBM also "trades" the player. The BBM Commissioner manually processes each inter-league trade. Typically the processing occurs within a day or two of the trade. It is a two-step process involving a refund of the player's salary and a deletion from the league. BBM managers have only a few days from when a trade is announced until they can no longer use him in their lineup or rotation.

A player traded between leagues will be deleted approximately 4-7 days after the trade is completed in MLB. When a player is scheduled for deletion, an announcement will appear on Transactions page. Players scheduled for deletion will be listed with the number of days remaining before being deleted. The countdown is as follows:

A player does not have to be on the 28-man roster to receive the salary refund. However, to receive an Instant Refund the player must be on the 28-man roster. See Salary Refunds.

Player Deletions occur after the game processes in the morning. To avoid lineup holes and penalties for no SPs, managers need to be careful when locking-in players soon to be deleted.
