Every BBM team can carry up to 30 players on its roster. 27 of these can be on the Active Players list and the rest are on the Inactive Players list. Moving players between the two lists is done in the Promote/Demote page on the Manage menu. To move players between the lists click the red DEMOTE or PROMOTE buttons or use Drag n Drop. No Save button is required as changes are automatically set for future games.
Players on the 27-man Active roster have a Status of either Majors or Locked. Locked players cannot be sent to the Inactive list (the minor leagues). Starting pitchers are locked when they will pitch tonight, tomorrow or the next day. Hitters on locked when they are in tomorrow's or the next day's lineups. To move a locked hitter to the inactive list, first remove him from those lineups. Locked starting pitchers cannot be moved to the inactive list. However, a locked player CAN be traded or released as part of a free agent claim so be careful.
The number of starts at each available position is displayed for the players on the Promote/Demote page. Relief pitchers display the number of appearances in their stat pools.
New free agents and traded players are initially listed in the Inactive Players list and will need to be moved to the Active Players list before they can be used.
For leagues using the Injured List, players are automatically moved to the Inactive Players list and remain there until activated by their MLB club. Managers still need to then move them to the Active list in BBM to be available in games.
Multiple players can be promoted and demoted at the same time.
