Negotiating a Trade

Most BBMers will contact other managers before officially submitting a trade within the game. The managers can haggle over the details of the trade so that once it is submitted, the trade will be accepted. This is not required, but it can speed up the trading process.

Trades can only be made between 2 teams within the game. Managers may negotiate as many trades at the same time as desired, but can only submit a trade offer to one team at

A team can trade up to 5 players to another team for up to 5 players; the number of players being traded does not have to be even, nor do they need to be from the same position.

The teams assume the salaries of the players received in a trade, but are no longer responsible for the salaries of the players traded away. Trading a high salary player for lower salary players is one way that a team can increase its Remaining Payroll.

However, BBM does allow salary to be included as part of the trade. Teams are not allowed to trade a player for cash, but salary is often included in a trade to compensate the team that is taking on additional payroll.

For instance, The Hungry Hippos trade away a player with a salary of $2,000k and receive 2 players from the Wild Turkeys with combined salaries of $800k. The Wild Hippos will gain $1,200k in remaining payroll and the Wild Turkeys will lose $1,200k in remaining payroll unless cash is included as part of the trade. For this to be a “cash neutral” trade, the Hungry Hippos would include $1,200k cash as part of the trade offer.

Note: Each trade must stand on its own merits.
