Trade Review

Trade Review is a league option that allows all the teams in the league to decide if a proposed trade is fair or not.

With Trade Review in effect, accepted trades will not be completed automatically. During this time, if 3 or more teams object to the trade, it will be reviewed by the Commissioner. If fewer than 3 teams object, it will be processed on the 2nd night after the trade is entered.

Without Trade Review in effect, trades are completed as soon as the second team accepts the trade within the game. Rosters are updated immediately.

Note: Players included in a trade will change teams even if they are locked to start for the team that is trading them. Players who are locked in to the starting rotation, or are in that night's lineup, are traded immediately and will result in a SP or lineup hole penalty.

Also, be sure to check your Next Day's Lineup for hitters and the SP slot that locks that night for SPs, to ensure that you have not created a hole.

Keeper Leagues and Reserved Leagues by default do not use Trade Review. Ultimate Leagues can choose whether or not to use this League Option.

Public Leagues use Trade Review by default, but this can be turned off if the league agrees and contacts the commissioner@baseballmanager.com.

How Trade Review works:

Once a trade has been accepted it is placed on hold and can be reviewed from the League Trade Review link on the League Directory page (click Directory on the League menu). When a manager objects to a trade, an email is sent to all league members noting the objection.

If 3 or more manager object to the trade, the BBM Commissioner will review the trade and his decision will be final. The Commissioner may poll the trading partners for more details and may seek the opinions of the BBM Coaches. If a trade is determined to be fair the objections will be removed and the trade will be processed the next morning. If it is determined to be unfair, the trade will be immediately removed.

NOTE: Managers in leagues not using the Trade Review option may still object to a trade by contacting the BBM Commissioner. If the trade is deemed unfair by the BBM Commissioner it will be reversed.
